Here are my Thursday Thoughts, a short list of the most interesting things that I’ve read, heard, and/or watched over the past week.

This week’s thoughts are all about protein shakes. I make a protein shake for breakfast most mornings. The shake consists of 1% organic milk, AG1, and protein powder. I guzzle it down before heading out the door with my coffee.

What I Bought:

HELIMIX 2.0 Vortex Blender Shaker Bottle

I was gifted a neon green Blender Bottle about eight years ago. It has been with me through five different condos/houses. The bottle finally gave out several weeks ago. The bottle leaked while I was shaking it. The lid and bottle was warped from the heat of my new dishwasher.

I bought a Helimix bottle after reading reviews on Amazon. I have no complaints after using it for a couple of weeks. The bottle mixes well without a ball. That’s one less part to wash and keep track of. It’s also made of a harder plastic that, so far, has held up well in the dishwasher.

ProMix Whey Protein Powder

ProMix was mentioned in passing in a Random Show episode by Kevin Rose. He said that Peter Attia was testing it out. That was enough of a recommendation for me to look up ProMix.

ProMix’s whey protein is made from grass fed cows and has nothing artificial. So it’s supposed to be of the highest quality. I’ve only tried the Raw Chocolate flavor. It has a subtle flavor that is not overly sweet.

I think it works well but honestly don’t have any way to know if it’s that much different from other brands.

OXO Good Grips Pop Container

I always seem to fumble around with the ziplock at the top of the protein powder bags. So I bought the OXO Pop Container to store my powder. The lid creates an air tight when the button is pushed down. I spill less powder and it’s looks great in the pantry.
