Here are my Thursday Thoughts, a short list of the most interesting things that I’ve read, heard, and/or watched over the past week.

What I Read:

6529’s Best Practice Setup For Normal People (Ethereum edition)

This is the guide I wish I had when I started moving assets in Ethereum. But I’m glad I found it now. There are some tips I’m going to implement like setting up a passphrase on my Trezor and registering ENS subdomains.

I also plan to pick up a Trezor T in the near future. I feel a bit uneasy with storing copies of my seed phrase in various locations. I would feel much safer using Shamir’s Secret Sharing, which requires multiple pieces to restore a wallet.

What I Tried:

Singularity App

I previously used Notion to keep track of my tasks and projects. I set up multiple views of a central database with different filters. It mostly worked. But it was a chore adding and organizing tasks.

So I looked into Things 3 after hearing blogs and YouTube channels rave about it. But it’s contained to the Apple ecosystem. I needed an app that worked across platforms. I use a Windows laptop for work and a MacBook Air at home.

I stumbled upon Singularity after reading a Reddit post. I dowloaded the app and turned on the Pro subscription for a one month experiment.

So far it’s been great. There is less friction between adding, organizing, and completing tasks. I also like that it has a calendar function that acts like a time block planner.

Axieboo

I started playing Axie Origins again after the Axie Parts Evolution update went live. As I played more, I got more interested in the metagame. I wanted to see which Axies made up the best teams and how prevalent those teams were.

Axieboo answered those questions.

Axieboo is a website with a bunch of different data from Axie Infinity. My favorite is the leaderboard panel. It breaks down the top 100 Axie teams into composition types. You can hover over individual teams to get a detailed view of the Axie, runes, and charms. This is great for getting a feel of the current trends in Axie Origins.
